Painting
Painting a home is important for many reasons. Obviously, a good paint job not only beautifies and adds character and personality to the house, but also serves as one of the primary lines of defense against weather, insects and other damages.
Paints are of different types:
Distemper Paint:
Is cost-effective and is commonly used for whitewashing walls in most of our homes. It’s safe and easy to use, but can be marked or discoloured easily.
Emulsion Paint:
Renders a rich effect and provides excellent durability. Subsequently, stains can be easily wiped down with a cloth soaked in detergent solution.
Enamel Paint :
Offering excellent durability and varied glossy effects, enamel is one of the most expensive types of house paints. Moreover, it is stain and water resistant and can be applied on metal and wooden surfaces alike.
Texture Paint :
These are water-based paints with metallic pigments which evoke beautiful special effects. Basically, wall texture paints are popular because of their denser pigmentation than the rest of the paints.
Matte/ Glossy Finish Paint :
Matte finish is ideal for hiding imperfections on walls and ceilings, this non-reflective finish offers the lowest level of gloss. Glossy finish does exactly the opposite, it offers a smooth reflective finish and is long-lasting with easy maintenance. However, to get an even look it needs more than one coat of paint as it highlights flaws.
